A NEW SCOUT YEAR!!!!!
It's almost time to kick off the 2010/2011 Scout year. Last Monday we held our annual planning meeting and have set plans for an exciting year of Scouting. While some things are subject to change, here is what we have so far:

FIRST SCOUT MEETING: as you can see on either calendar, we will meet for the first time on September 13 (the usual time and place).
FIRST CAMPING TRIP: we have the Christy Cabin lined up for the weekend of September 17-19. We'll make this an easy trip since it is the first of the year. It would be great if everyone can make it out for at least part of the weekend.
POPCORN SALE:: we'll kick this off at the first meeting. You'll want to use this fundraiser to generate some money for yourself to help with dues, summer camp and our final camping trip of the year.
Here are some of the things we have planned for this year:
- Council Camporall - the entire Council coming together at Maumee Bay State Park.
- A trip to the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum
- Klondike
- Camp Alaska
- A return trip to the Adirondacks at Camp Lakota
- Backpacking at Wildcat Hollow
- A trip to Kelly's Island for a weekend of Cycling
- A Zipline Adventure (more below)
- And of course Summer Camp
OZONE ADVENTURE: this will be our feature trip of the year and will take place in early June (providing we are able to secure the date). The highlight of the trip (we will include some other activities) will be a visit to the YMCA's Camp Kern for the Ozone Adventure - several hours of time spent in the treetops above the Little Miami River riding ziplines from one tree to another. It is not an inexpensive trip and will cost between $55 and $75 depending on the size of the group (additional costs will be added for food, camping etc.). We will provide some fund raising opportunities to offset the cost. Below are several links to information on the adventure.
